Long Live The King Tobor

I enjoy when authors of art/sketch blogs write things like these in their posts:

"I can call this my first acrylic on board. Oils can be yummy and vibrant and flexible, but the drying times drive me insane. So I gave a try with a new medium and I'm sure I will keep practicing. It was fun.

In the end, I scanned the whole thing and made some contrast + yellow tinting with PS. Then--- aaarg-I added some highlights. How could I resist? The original piece is mostly grayscale.

If you wonder what is that weird red floating thing, I make myself exactly the same question."

REAL reference. No photos. Digital coloring over loose pencil art.
The book spiral was NOT retouched with photoshop. :)

Yup. Going through some nasty art mood. Of the many symptoms, one of them is "You're a slow and lousy drawer. Faces faces faces. You can't even draw an animal properly!!". Well, so a big part of my nasty art mood is attended by art therapy. Duh. No faces or tentacles or psy-gardens here this time.
